Foreign exchange student
to arrive mid-August
- The Brady Rotary Club met Tuesday, Aug. 2 at 12 noon at the Heart of
Texas Depot Restaurant.
President Brian Wiggins reminded members to wear their name tags at
meetings.
Mitch Van Horn informed the club that our foreign exchange student
would arrive Aug. 12.
Program chairman Susan Delk introduced Wendy Ellis, community de-
velopment director of the Chamber of Commerce. Wendy began by reading
a clip from Reader's Digest, Aug. '05, page 229, that mentions Brady.
Also, she discussed the business of the Goat Cook-off and the number of
telephone calls received about the cook-off to be held Sept. 2 and 3.
She mentioned that volunteers are needed for the cook-off. Also, the
Industrial Foundation is a big help to small business.
The $2 bill was won by Susan Delk for knowing that the first Goat Cook-
off was held in 1973. It was sponsored by the Brady Jaycees.
Program chairman for Aug. 9 is Charlie Humphreys.
NORMA HAGAN has opened a gift/collectibles shop on North
Bridge Street. The shop, located at the old Harkrider’s Flower Shop,

has been re-done inside and out and is getting new merchandise daily.
A grand opening is planned in the near future.

To all citizens of Brady:
Isn't it great to live in a small city that has employees that will repair
an electrical "out" and "downed" pole after 5 p.m. and finish at II p.m.?
Thank you city employees.
