DIDN'T KNOW •
Brought to you by Ray Huffines
Here’s an interesting question ... Can you name a major
sports event in which the winner each year is absolutely
prohibited from coming back to try to win again the next
year? ... Such a major event is the Kentucky Derby which
is for 3-year-old horses only ... No horse can ever return
to race in the Derby a second time.
Amazingly, the great Nolan Ryan, who pitched in big
league baseball for 27 years, appeared in only ONE
World Series game in his entire career -- and that was as
a relief pitcher for just 2 innings for the Mets in 1969 ...
Ryan never played in a World Series after than, from
1970 through 1993.
Which women’s major-college basketball team has won
the most NCAA championships? ... Answer is the
Tennessee women’s team which has won the title 3 times,
in 1987, 1989 and 1991.
