Don Vest, an all-everything Colorado City back, and R
Reg Scarborough, a rock-ribbed Snyder center, head the 1
1960 Abilene Reporter-News’ Class AAA’ All-Area foot-
ball team. .
Vest, who guided Colorado City’s Wolves to a share of 9
• the District 3-AAA championship, is the “Back of the s
Year”, while Scarborough, who was the key lineman in
the Tigers’ share of the 3-AAA crown, is “Lineman of
the Year".
Gordon Wood, the master who turned out two state 3
championships at Stamford (1955-1956), guided his N
Brownwood Lions to the Class AAA state crown, the d
s school’s first in history, in his first season as head men- d
' tor. For these efforts, Wood is the “Coach of the Year”, a
