Best Year Ever’ for U.S.
By J. A. LIVINGSTON
Another “best year ever.”

When the final statistics are
rolled out by the Department of
Commerce, the sum total of goods
and services produced in the Unit-

3 per cent gain over 1960, made
under rigorous conditions - like
running a four-minute mile in the
rain.
The year started out dismally.
