age 25, and Nasario Sanchez. Both
were taken to Dilley Hospital by a
passing motorist. Reports indicate
that Nasario had a broken collar
bone and Noe had minor lacerations.

right side of the road. The driver
over compensated and jerked the
pickup back onto the road and
caused it to go into a sideways skid

A Cotulla resident escaped
serious injury in a one vehicle roll-
over on FM 468 about seven miles
west of town Friday. La Salle County
Sheriff Darwin Avant reports that
Rosa Marie Maldonado was taken
to Dilley Hospital by La Salle County
EMS and later released.
According to the report, Maldo-
nado was westbound on FM 468 in
a 1984 red Dodge and apparently
lost control of the vehicle, hitting a
fence, over turning, and ending
upside down on top of the fence.
The accident was investigated by
Sheriff Avant.
The 60th Anniversary reunion
wasn’t the only cause for celebra-
tion that night, however - David
Scott, their older son, celebrated
his 14th birthday and accompanied
by his pal, Edward from San
Antonio, all the group sang
“Happy Birthday” to him. David’s
mother also had baked a second
German chocolate cake in his
honor but everyone else devoured
the one made for the 29ers!
Not many people, let alone an
entire class have a “traditional
tablecloth” but the 29’ers do!
The white cloth embroidered in
blue covered the Schulze’s main
table that Saturday night, Mrs.
Scott’s gift to the class last year.
Blue candles were arranged with
white fabric flowers as the center-
piece and similar arrangements
graced smaller blue-clothed tables.
Classmates, spouses and guests
(besides those in the Schulze
family) attending were Mrs.
Manly; Mrs. Carothers, Mrs.

her daughter, Judith Manly.
Early in the afternoon, Corrine
(Autry) Ringer and her husband,
Emmett, arrived from Three
Rivers, where they had been visit-
ing for several days. Because
Emmett has not completely re-
covered from a severe stroke in
February ’88 and he tires very
quickly, the Ringers only visited
Saturday with her classmates.
However, the Colville, Wash,
couple did bring extra-special
guests with them — oh, yes, the
Ringers’ presence was “special”
enough for everyone!! — their
Three Rivers hostess and her
sister, Kate Crawford; another of
her sisters, Rudell Hibdon of
Spokane, Wash., and their daugh-
ter Jerry Matthews of Addy,
Wash. All three seemed to enjoy
their Cotulla visit a great deal.
Virgil Smith, who moved to
Castroville within the past year,
visited with fellow 29ers at the
Manly home during part of the
afternoon. His wife, Marilyn,
has been “sidelined” with crippl-
ing arthritis for a number of
turning to the 3rd weekend date)
and it is expected classmates
will be polled during the year
as to their wishes.
However, almost half of the
class really enjoyed the Fair

were grouped just south of the
