operates a salt water fisheries

Biologists already have several
projects in mind for the station
such as research on the mortality
rate of hooked bass when they

in the lower Laguna Madre be-
cause of low tides, lack of rain-
fall, hot weather and high salt
content of the water:

kills them.
Department authorities say
the 800 thousand pounds of fish
killed this year is the largest in
recent memory.
