gunships to smash an enemy
force arrayed along the Cambo-
dian border today. US command-
ers report 16 enemy dead and
no American casualties.
SAIGON—The American Com-
mand in Saigon says there were
115 enemy attacks on allied
forces during the 24-hour allied
cease-fire. Sixty-one of these
were rated as significant be-
cause they resulted in casualties.
Near the end of the allied
truce, an American patrol staked
out along the Cambodian border
fought with 50 to 70 North
Vietnamese infiltrators. The US
Command said 16 enemy were
killed by the patrol, artillery and
helicopter gunships operating by
the light of flares.
