New Broadcasting
Station To Open
McKinney radio fans will be inter-’
ested in the announcement that ther
Calumet Vainbo Broadcasting Station
is now on the air with test programs,
and the official opening date has de-
finitely been set for Thursday, May
22nd.
The inaugural program is one of the
most ambitious in the history of
Radio Broadcasting. It wil include
many of Chicago’s notable musical
artists, the foremost men In political
life, and practically all of the theatri-
cal stars playing at Chicago theatres.
Jerry Sullivan, musician, singer, and
song writer, favorably konwn in radio
and musical circles will be director
in charge while Phil Schwartz, bet-
ter known as Uncle Phil, will be his
assistant It. J. Engler, recently of
wos, Jefferson City, Missouri, will be
in charge of the mechanical equip-
ment.
Station WQ.J is owned jointly by the
Calumet Baking Power Company and
the Rainho Gardens.
Following is the regular daily
broadcasting schedule for WQJ:
11:00 to 12:00 a. in.—Special fea-
tures.
3:00 to 4:00 p. m.—Educational.
Domestic Science, Style Talks, House-
hold Hints etc.
7:00 to 8:00 p. in.—Musical pro-
gram.
10:00 p. m. to 2:00 a. m.—Ralph
Williams with Ills Rainbo Orchestra
and Entertainers.
Sunday, #:00 to 4:00 p. m. and 8:00
to 10:00 p m.—Musical programs.
