Society Events Beginning With
Pageant, and Coronation of Queen
A number of events of wide social interest to Wichita Falls will
be included in the program of the Texas-Okiahoma fair this year,
which will be attended by a large assemblage of society folk through-
out the city. Beginning Saturday night, October 2, with the brilliant
coronation of Her Majesty, Queen of the Texas-Oklahoma fair, in front

Following the coronation, the
queen and her court will witness
the spectacular Pageant of Progress !
which will portray the romantic and
industrial history- of Wichita Falls
from its beginning to the present
day. Ths pageant will include sev-
eral hundred participants, and will
be particularly Interesting in the
nature of Its scenery and costum-
ing. representing ths colorful his-
tory of the early days in Wichita
Falls in typical manner. Pictur-
esque characters will be represent-
ed and ths pageant will include
several episodes, with a number of

An elaborate coronation ball will
be given for the queen and her at-
tendants following the coronation
and pageant, at the Country club.
The queen will entertain her court
Sunday afternoon at a tea at the
Wichita club from f to < o'clock,
also her friends, the directors of
the fair, and their wives.
Merchants’ Style Show
The Merchants’ Style show will
also be of social interest, exhibit,
ing the latest styles in costumes
and design in a novel manner. Bev.

models in the chow.
The horse show will include a
number of local women riders of
note, and horned from the beat sta-
bles in the city will be entered.

Honors Visitors

of Mrs. C. B. Bailey in Indian
Heights at To o’clock was Thurs-
day’s compliment to visiting women
attending the Realtors’ convention.
The Halley home was attractively
decorated in a profusion of roses
and chrysanthemums, and Mrs.) C.
Y. Tully was chairman of the must-
cale committee. Other members
were Mrs Rhea Howard, Mrs. Hen
ry Welch, Mrs. P. S. Richardson,
Mrs. W. B. Curies and Mrs. Btalon.
