On reading the criticism of the
Womans Christian Home I could nut
resist the temptation to add my
mite. In my humble opinion (For
I am only a woman) the Home would
be a splendid Institution if it was
properly conducted. But they say
a woman cannot find protection there
once. She had stepped from the
straight and narrow path. Ah! what
true Christianity that is? But alas
how many of us are lacking in all
that goes to make up a Christian and
of those that do understand the true
meaning of the word very few prac-
tice it They go to church on the
Sabbath and think they have done
their duty to God and man but
should a poor tramp come to them tor
bread or a poor woman for shelter
they would refuse them. Go to cer-
tain portions of this city aiid look at
the degradation and ignorance that
exists. It is enough to make one’s
heart ache. Why do not
some of our Christian people try
to reform a few of those poor crea-
tures. Never mind the neathen
charity begins at home. There is
none so hard on a woman as her own
sex. It a woman goes astray tne so
called lady will raise her eyebrows in
horror if her name is mentioned and
should the lady meet her anywhere
will hold back her dainty skirts as
though the erring one was some
poisonous reptile too loathsome to
touch while at the same time she
will permit the man that caused the
ruin of a once pure girl to whirl her
through the mazes of the waltz and
accept his escort to theatre and
church. To church Bah the mockery
of it. The Bible says we are all sis-
ters together will the time ever come
when woman will realize that fact
and do Justice to her sex? If any one
has any plan tosuggest in regard to
helping those poor women who wi«h
to reform please do so ami
though I have neither moony
nor influence to any
amount both shall be exeiwd
to their utmostextent. Oh Christ en
Home be ye that in reality. Ob
womanhood try and remember that
though they have fallen they ure
women. Ob sisterhood do unto
others as ye would others should
unto you. Eve
