more and better buildings,
among which will be that of the
First National Bank. In our
next issue we expect to be able
to announce contracts for several
other substantial business houses, j

and bridge bonds.
WHO MAY VOTE ON
THE BOND ISSUE
Judge John L. Terrell Desig-
nates Qualified Voter
in Bond Issues
That's exactly what every
sensible man should do.
ijtui-K ?*ir
He says: "To be entitled to
vote in this election a person
must be a qualified voter under
the laws of this state, and
in addition thereto he must be a
resident property tax payer in
Stonewall county, Texas. This
is construed to mean that if a
man otherwise qualified to vote
owned property, real or personal,
Jan. 1, 1609, in Stonewall county,
which property is subject to
taxation, he is entitled to vote."
This applies to the coming
election for road and bridge
bonds to be held on July 31 and
should be heeded by our people
as it is a penal offense to offer to
yote when you are not a legal
voter. You are at liberty, how-
ever, to state to the presiding
judge of election the facts in
your case and he will then tell
you whether or not you are a
qualified voter.
A Grand Time Expected. Many Promi-
nent Speakers Expected. Gov.
Campbell Alsc May Come
You can lead a horse to
water but you can't make
him drink. Neither can you
make him pull a heavy load
over a bad road.
Moral: Vote for the bonds.
Stamford, July 17.—The an-
nual reunion of Confederate vet-
erans to held in Stamford on
August 5, 6 and 7 is just now at-
tracting considerable interest
both in and out of Stamford.
Besides the Stamford organiza-
tion of veterans, known as Joe
Sayers Camp, U. C. V., the or-
ganizations at Anson, Haskell
and Aspermont are affilliated
and take part in this reunion,
forming one big association ot
the old soldiers. # The various
committees are very busy at
present arranging the program,
securing attractions, etc. The
program has not been completed
at,this time but it is known that
a number of prominent men
have agreed to deliver addresses
and other interesting attractions
have been arranged for, aside
from the usual amusement feat-
ures generally in evidence on
occasions of this kind. The vet-
erans own a large park south of
town where the reunions are
held and the grounds will be
cleaned up and put in good order
within the next few days.
Governor Campbell has been
extended an invitation to be
present and make a speech on
one of the three days and has
anawered that he will do so if
possible. However, it is not cer-
tain that he will be here.
Ice Cream—Sude s lee Cream
The best cream and the most
cream for the money—pure Jer-
sey Cream. Only one place to
get it. If you don't know, ask
your friends.
Better look up the new liquor
law before you offer a man a
drink of booze. It may save you
trouble. Nobody has offered us
a drink since the 10th of this
month nor the month preceding.
We might even go further back
and say since the 10th of January.
