tured Santos Barrentes and Pedro
Moya as suspicious characters. The
basis of this charge is the number
of chickens said to be stolen which
they had in their keeping.

leave here Thursday for Victoria
where they will be joined by Mr.
T. M. O’Connor and from there pro-
ceed to the latter’s ranch near Fort
Lavaca where they will engage in
duck shooting.
Shook His English Wife
Oklahoma City Okla. Dec. 31.
—A divorce suit involving promi-
nent English people was filed in
the District court here today. It
is docketed as “Asked M. Freeborn
vs. Richard J. G. Freeborn” and
the petition sets forth that they
were married in County Sussex
England June 6 1880 and lived
together until April 1892. The
defendant is a graduate of Oxford
college and the wife is a niece of
Sir E. John Paul of Albany Eng-
land. The grounds set forth are
non-support cruelty and gross ne-
glect of duty. The charge is made
that although he was In receipt of
an excellent salary and held high
positions under the government
his wife had to depend on her rela-
tives for support Freeborn spend-
ing all his money in fast living.
Freeborn’s present address is Nura
Coote South Australia to which
place a copy of the petition has
been forwarded.
Hotel Changes.
Atlanta Ga. Dec 31.—Joseph
Thompson today bought the inter-
est of Henry Beerman in the lease
of the Kimball house. George
Scoville bought Beerman’s interest
in the lease of the Markham house.
Mr. Thompson becomes sole lessee
of the Kimball. Mr. Beerman goes
to Europe for his health.

regular monthly meeting of the
County Board of the Ancient Or-
der of Hibernians held Fridaj'
night the 27th Inst. the following
resolution was unanimously and
enthusiastically adopted:
Be it resolved that we as Irish-
men and the sons of Irishmen ex-
tend our hearty sympathy to the
Cuban patriots in their gallant
struggle for independence.
