Dear Sir: Every job Devoe is
done with less gallons than ever
before with any other paint.
S. J. Field, Indianola, Fla.,
says: "All houses here are paint-
ed Devoe. The hot air is too try-
ing for other paints. One coat
Devoe is better than two of any
other paint, so far as we know."
Less gallons, less cost.
Yours truly,

Every growing ambitious town
is composed of three elements.
Those who work patriotically,
vigorously and intelligently for
its advancement; those who are
in a state of apathy or indiffer-
ence, and those who take a
curious delight in discouraging
the effort of others by ridicule,
and by a persistent denial that
any progress can or has been
accomplished, and boasts of
every other town besides their
own. The last class are called
croakers, but they are really
something worse, for their op-
position does not arise simply
from despondency but from that
unenviable spirit that will neither
act itself or suffer others to act.
Have You Chills?

Ma of chills in the long ago and it
will cure you now. It has been

have been proven. We guarantee

is cheerfully refunded—and its
name is Cheatham's Chill Tonic.
Last Saturday was rather a
busy day in justice court circles.
A man named T. P. Holt was
arraigned before Squire John
Williams upon a charge of
swindling. The State was rep-
resented by county attorney
Vardiman, Taylor Daniels, of
Aspermont and Judge C. P.
Woodruff of Sweetwater. Holt
was represented by attorney
Oldham of Aspermont. Holt
appeared, his face looking as if
he had had a rucus with a brace-
of wild-cats. From some big
talk reported to háve been ' by
Holt at Aspermont, we 'kinder'
expected Holt to have brought a
gatling gun along, but the gen-
tleman was plum bridle wise and
as docile as a lamb. Mr. Holt
was placed under a thousand
dollar bond to await the action of
the grand jury, which he gave
and departed for his home Mon-
day morning.—Clairemont
terprise.
Great guns and little fishes!
Just to think that on several dif-
ferent occasions we have been in
this man Holt's restaurant with-
out our gun! We little dreamed
that he was such a bad "hombre,"
but it remained for the people of
Clairemont to tell us just how
"tough" he really is. From this
time on we will keep our good
eye on him and never let him
get the drop on us.
Why James Lee Got Well.
Everybody in Zainesville, O.,
knows Mrs. Mary Lee, of rural
route 8. She writes: "My hus-
band, James Lee, firmly believes
he owes his life to the use of Dr.
King's New Discovery. H i s
lungs were so severely affected
that consumption seemed inevit-
able, when a friend recommend-
ed New Discovery. We tried it,
and its use has restored him to
perfect health." Dr. King's New
Discovery is the king of throat
and lung remedies. For coughs
and colds it has no equal. The
first dose gives relief. Try it!
