Will We Do It?
To The Star.
Rotan, Tex., June 10—I notice
your Commissioners' Court has
ordered an election to issue bonds
to build a court house and jail,
and I sincerely trust Jyour peo-
ple will not make the mistake
that our people did and vote
down the bond issue. Our peo-
ple did not see proper to vote
the issuance of bonds for this
purpose and now the court has
ordered interest bearing war-
rants to the amount of $75,000
issued which will cost the people
more than five times as much as
to have voted the bonds. Now,
Understand I am an outsider and
don't know what the intention
of your court is, therefore I
don't know that your court would
resort to this method, but such a
step is not at all improbable.
But say your court did not see
proper to issue these interest
bearing warrants in case the
bond issue does not carry, sup-
pose your old court house should
burn or be condemned what are
they going to do? The law com-
pels them to provide a place in
which to hold the courts, and the
question then arises as to what
they would do in the matter.
The people of Fisher County
made the most serious mistake of
their lives when the}' said by
their ballots that they did not
want the bond issue, and your
people will find in a very short
time that they have made the
same error if the bond issue is
defeated. v
Now I do not wish to be class-
ed as a "butter in,'" but this is a
matter which demands the seri-
ous consideration of every per-
son in your county, and as I
have a number of warm personal
Jriends in your county I would
like to see the county prosper,
which will be a natural result if
you issue these bonds and start
the ball of progress to rolling.
Just so long as you let your pres-
ent old court house stand on the
public square just that long will
capital refuse to come into your
midst. Yours truly,
A WELL WISHER
The above, coming as it does
from a people who are begin-
ning to realize the seriousness of
the situation now confronting
them, should cause our people to
stop and consider this matter
thoroughly before casting a bal-
lot against the issuance of these
bonds, and we sincerely trust
you will look at the matter from
an unprejudiced standpoint and
cast a vote for the future pros-
perity of your town and countv,
viz: THE BOND ISSUE.

It Keeps Them Off.
They are pretty bad this year
no mistake—and they bite vici-
ously. We refer to Mosquitoes,
but a little Hunt's Lightning Oil
applied to the irritated places
takes the sting- away. It keeps
them off if used in time.
