sued out of an Honorable county
court of Stonewall county, on
the 26th day of April 1910, by
R. S. Tillotson, clerk of said
county court, for the sum of
Three hundred sixty-nine and 14-
100 dollars and costs of suit, un-
der a judgment, in favor of Hig-
ginbotham-Harris Company in a
certain cause in said court, No.
140 and styled Higginbotham-
Harris Company, vs. G. H. Mayes
G. R. Wimberly, Drew Johnson
and W. G. Billingsbery, placed
in my hands for service, I, S. R.
Lanier, sheriff of Stonewall coun-
ty, Texas, did, on the 29th day
of April 1910, levy on certain
real estate, situated is Stonewall
county, Texas, described as fol-
lows, to-wit:
All of lot No. 4, in block No. 25
in the town of Swenson, Texas,
as shown by official plot of same;
together with all improvements
thereon, consisting of one boxed
house 20x40 feet, shingled roof,
known as the Wimberly Restau-
rant and now used for school pur-
poses and such other improve-
ments as may now be situated on
said premises, and levied upon
as the property of said G. H.
Mayes, G. R. Wimberly, Drew
Johnson and W. G. Billingsley,
and that on the first Tuesday in
June 1910, the same being the
7th day of said month, at the
court house dodr? of Stonewall
county, in the town of Asper-
mont, Texas, between the hours
of 10 a. m. and 4 p. m. tby virtue
of said levy and said execution
and judgment, I will sell said
above described real estate at
public vendue, for cash, to the
highest bidder, as the property
of said above mentioned defend-
ants. And in comoliance with
law, I give this notice by publi-
cation, in the English language,
once a week for three consecu-
tive weeks immediately preceed-
ing said day of sale, in the As-

The plan is a novel one and at once commends itself to the public, there being no outlay <
part of anyone other than the people who are doing this to stimulate cash trade, and at the same
bestow valuable gifts that will be permanent advertisements for them. Briefly stated, the plan is tl
Each firm that is interested in the contest is provided with voting tickets, and for each ten
worth of goods purchased or work done issues a ticket entitling the holder to one vote. The
can be voted *for the church, school, lodge or club and individual of the purchaser's preference.
A 10 cent purchase entitled to one vote. 20 cents to two votes, $1. to ten votes, $5. to fifty vot<{
and so on. Tickets can only be had frot^ firms who have secured an interest in the contest an<
cash purchases. The number of votes on each ticket should be made with ink or indelible pencil. '
No charges whatever is made for tickets. You vote for the organization and individual of your
choice on each ticket. Each week the votes will be counted and the standing of the contestants an*
nounced in The Star. A disinterested committee will be selected to count the votes.
Contest will close September, 30th, 1910, at noon at which time the organ will be awarded to the
organization having received the greatest number of votes, and the diamond ring and gold waich to,
the two individuals receiving the greatest number of votes.
