Alto High School
The Alto High School Student
Council is sponsoring a blood drive
Monday, Dec. 11. The drive will be
held in the High School, Room 6.
Donors are asked to bring a drivers
license and eat before coming. For

WOW Lodge No. 303 will have a
Christmas fried turkey dinner at 6 p.m.
Dec. 15 at the WOW building, 1800
College Avenue. All members and

hearing
Rusk Independent School District
will hold a public hearing on the
Academic Excellence Indicator
System at the regular school board
meeting at 5:15 p.m. Monday, Dec.
11. The meeting will be held in the
Administration Buildings. Issues to be
presented for public hearing include
student performance,, district
-accountability; student enrollment and
program information. All interested
persons are invited to attend.
■ Troopers
announce holiday
report
State Troopers assigned to the
Anderson-Cherokee counties area
issued 174 traffic citations from Nov.
19 to Nov. 25. There were 296 traffic
warnings issued, nine DWI arrest and
five criminal arrest.
A total of 24 traffic accidents were
investigated. Of that number 11
involved injuries and 13 only property
damage.

Stan Chapman, representative of the Norman Museum In Rusk,
glvaa a personal tour to former Rusklte, Mary Ethel Guinn. She
donated Weat Point and World War memorabilia, the property of
har late father, Pope A. Guinn. This was Ms. Guinn's first visit to
Rusk since the display was set up in the museum. She visited
friends and relatives In the area during the Thanksgiving holiday
waekend.

the Whitehead Heritage Park on
US Highway 69. "We hope to have
more specific news on this in the
near future," she said.
Rusk Mayor Enunett Whitehead
commented on the operation of the
city. "A pending law suit stem-
ming from a zoning dispute has
had our attention lately," he said.
"With City Manager Mary Daly's
resignation, we named Fran
Wendeborn acting City Manager
to provide more time for the evalu-
ation of applicants."
Marie Whitehead reported com-
munication with Perry Bass of
Houston, owner of the former Tho-
mas J. Rusk Hotel. "He expressed
an interest in coming to our Janu-
ary meeting, to seek local input
with his plans for the development
of the property," she said.
Charles Robert Hassell presided
at the meeting held at the Foot-
bridge Restaurant.

Mr. Berryhill says he and
his wife would likely set up a
bed and breakfast in the Guinn

trance is located 866 feet from
the drive entrance to Ms.
Pope's property.
There is a distance of 600
feet from the entrance of
Enunett Whitehead's bull pen
to the Berryhill entrance, and
688 feet from their gate to the
