Rusk. He was born Jan. 30,
1932, in Orange and had
resided in Rusk for 24 years. He
formerly lived in Beaumont.
He was a Baptist, a truck
driver for Missouri Pacific,
president of Teamster Union in
Beaumont, fireman for Rusk
Fire Department and a lifetime
member of the Veterans of
Foreign Wars in Vidor. He was
a Korean Conflict veteran.
Survivors are his wife of 28
years, Lenoro (Cubby) Brown of
Rusk; two sons, Darrell Brown
of Vidor and Jacky Brown of
Vidor; three daughters, Josie
Roy of Vidor, Tfcmmie Davis of
Vidor and Pamela Chapman

Burial was in Mahoney Cem-
etery.
Mrs. SandefVvr died at her
home at 10:35 p.m. Friday
following an illness of several
weeks. She was born in the
Mahoney community on Nov.
15, 1909, the daughter of
Richard H. (Rich) and Bertha
McManus Masaey. She was a
longtime Mahoney resident
prior to moving to Sulphur
Springs. She was a homemaker
and a momber of the Southside
Church of Christ.
She married Newt C. Sand-
efur in the Mahoney com-
munity on Aug. 19, 1926. He
preceded her in death on Feb.
7,1974.
She was precedod in death
by two brothers, Leonard and
John D. Massoy.
She is survived by five daugh-
ters, Myra White of Rusk,
Gracie McLemore of Sulphur
Spring, Claudia Carliale of
Tyler, Becky Powell and Beth
Price, both of Dike; two sisters,
Nannie Lou Richie of Sulphur
Springs and Nadine Ticer of
