Scouts barbecue to help others
Boerne Cub Scout Pack 102
is having a Barbecue Dinner
Plate fundraiser on Saturday,
Aug. 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
at the First United Method-
ist Church, 205 E. James St.,
Boerne.
The funds will be used to pro-
vide scholarships to families
that want to join scouting but
are unable to afford it, as well
as awards for the scouts.
Meals include half a chicken,
two sides and a dessert for a $7
donation.
To pickup meals drive through
the church parking lot, present
pre-purchased tickets and the
scouts will deliver dinner for
that night right to the car.

Kendall County youth participate
in Texas Wildlife Brigades Camp:

Katie Burton, Ginny Cowan
and Ellie Harpole participated
in the Texas Brigades summer
leadership camps during June
and July.
They were among 135 high
school students who took part
in the award-winning leadership
development program.
The Texas Brigades give high
school youth the necessary skills
and knowledge of wildlife and
fisheries, habitat conservation,
land and water stewardship,
team building, communica-
tion, and leadership to become
ambassadors for conservation
and help ensure a sustained wild-
life and fisheries legacy for future
generations.
There are five Brigade camps
each summer - two Buckskin
Brigades, two Bobwhite Brigades
and the Bass Brigade.
Participants must be between
13 and 17 years of age, and
submit a complete application
for consideration. Dates for 2011
will be available later this fall.
Participants are available to
give presentations to schools and
civic groups.

file criminal charges against her.
Officers referred her to a justice of

caller reported a woman in a gold
Ford Focus was speeding through
the area, but police couldn’t find
her.
2:02 p.m., I-10 mile marker
541 - Officers couldn’t find the
man laying near a white truck on
the side of the road that a caller
reported.

9:20 a.m., 31200 I-10 - After a
traffic stop a man was arrested for
possession of marijuana.
12:01 p.m., 400 E. Blanco - A
woman wanted assurance that the
vehicle she was giving her grand-
daughter was not in violation of
any high-emission standards in the
area.
1:28 p.m., 1300 S. Main - A
driver reported a hit-and-run fender-
bender in a parking lot.
3:53 p.m., 500 Adler - A female
juvenile reported a couple of
skateboarders had previously sto-
len her Blackberry and a Canon
