New Playground Equipment to
be Installed at Duck Pond Park
The Coppell Parks and Recreation
Department will soon install a new play
structure at The Duck Pond Park, 400 E.
Bethel School Road. Removal of the old
equ ipment and installation of the new play-
ground equipment should begin mid-sum-
mer, according to Brad Reid, director of
Parks and Recreation.
Jim Lea & Associates of Richardson
will remove and dispose of the old equip-
ment and install the new Little Tikes Com-
mercial Play System. The unit will in-
clude a trapeze challenge, Tikes Peak
climbing structure, arched bridge, inter-
active play panel, slides and various other
equipment guaranteed to provide unlim-
ited fun, said Reid.
Cost of the entire project is quoted
at $65,955.
The current wood structure is begin-
ning to splinter and has become increas-
ingly difficult to maintain in a safe condi-
tion, said Reid. The proposed play unit is
a metal structure, similar to the one in-
stalled at MacArthur Park, with a rub-
berized fall surface for improved safety.
