In December 2003, the Cop-
pell City Council passed an Or-
dinance addressing the use of
scooters in the city (Article 8-5,
Section 8-5-5). Vehicles specifi-
cally addressed in the Ordinance
include: motor assisted scooters
(includes gasoline and self-pro-
pelled scooters, as well as pocket
bikes) and neighborhood electric
vehicles. Students riding scoot-
ers to school should check with
their individual campuses to see
if they are allowed.

follows:
•A person may not operate a
neighborhood electric vehicle or
motor assisted scooter on any
