LDS Relief Society Organizes
Stockings for Soldiers Project
Storyteller to Perform at
Riverside Church of Christ
Local members of the Relief
Society, an organization for
women in The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints, are
carrying out a project — Stock-
ings for Soldiers.
Julia Pratt, Relief Society
president for the local area, said,
“The purpose of this project is
to show the service men and
women who are far from home
during the holidays that we re-
member them and appreciate
their sacrifice. We hope that
these Christmas stockings will
convey our deep gratitude and
support for the soldiers who re-
ceive them.”
This one-time family project
involves all ages from children,
youth, to adults residing in
Coppell, Flower Mound, High-
land Village, Lewisville, and Irv-
ing. One group of young women
cut out stockings for the women
to sew. Local Relief Societies
