Sign-Up for Cub Scouts is September 13
Estate Planning Offered September 12
An Estate Planning Workshop will be held at the Coppell Senior Cen-
ter on Wednesday, September 12, at 11:30 a.m. Charles W. Alexander, fi-
nancial representative for New England Financial, will provide tips on how
to take tax-free withdrawals from an annuity, how to stretch an IRA to
grandchildren, and how to protect assets from lawsuits, judgements, liens
and bankruptcy. The free program is for adults age 55 and over. Lunch will
be provided. To make reservations, call the center.
Center to Host Mexican Fiesta Luncheon
The Coppell Senior Center, located at 616 S Coppell Road, will host
its second Annual Mexican Fiesta Luncheon on Friday, September 14, at
11:30 a.m. The program will celebrate Mexican Independence Day, cel-
ebrated on September 16. Festivities will include Tex-Mex food plus spe-
cial music provided by Mariachi Group Los Reyes de Dallas. Reservations
are required and can be made by calling the center.
Painting Class to be Offered
An oil painting class for beginners or intermediate students will be
held from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Monday, September 17, at the center. In-
structor Susan Rogers will teach the class in a step-by-step approach so
that it is easy but fun. Students will complete an “English Garden with
Thatched Roof Cottage” painting during the class. All supplies are pro-
vided. Cost of the class is $30. Students must preregister by September 14.

day, September 13, at 6:30 p.m.
to sign up for Cub Scouts. All
boys must be accompanied by
a parent or guardian.
In Cub Scouts, boys will
have an opportunity to go
camping, canoeing, fishing,
swimming; shoot BB guns and
archery; play baseball, basket-
ball, soccer, volleyball, tennis,
golf; and make and race model
cars, boats and rockets. They
also will go on field trips, do arts
and crafts, and participate in
many other fun and challeng-
ing activities.
The cost is $22, which in-
cludes registration and 12
months of “Boys Life” maga-
zine and insurance. Boys who
are already registered in the
Cub Scouts do not need to at-
tend the event.
