Fox Sports Southwest to Cover
Coppell-Southlake Carroll Game
Tonight’s Coppell High
School Cowboys’ football game
against the Southlake Carroll
Dragons will be featured on Fox
Sports Southwest’s “High School
Scoreboard Live.” The show
will air tonight on the Fox Sports
Network at midnight, with a re-
play Saturday at 9:00 p.m.
The Southlake Carroll game,
which takes place at CHS at
7:30 p.m., will be the Cowboys’
first District game this season.
The Cowboys have had a strong
record in non-District games so
CHS Cross Country Holds Home
Race Today at Brown Park West
The Coppell High School
Cross Country team is hosting
its first-ever home race on Fri-
day, October 10, at 2:00 p.m. at
Brown Park West. Eighteen
teams are expected to take part
from across the metroplex, in-
cluding 5A Keller and 4A High-
land Park.
There will be many strong
far this season, 4-1. CHS com-
petes in District 6-5A.
Fox will showcase the game
as its “DQ Big Game of The
Week.”
Fox said reporter Neil
Beasley will take viewers to both
Southlake and Coppell cam-
puses, around their communities
and inside their locker rooms to
capture the “big game” atmo-
sphere of the event.
A shortened version of the
coverage will also be featured
on “High School Spotlight,” a 30-
runners, so the races will be fast
and very competitive, according
to a CHS team spokesman. Girls
will run two miles and boys will
run three miles.

Tonight’s District opening
football game between the
CHS Cowboys and Southlake
Carroll Dragons will be
broadcast live on radio station
KKGM 1630-AM. Airtime is
7:00 p.m.
Metro Sports Communi-
cations will carry the live
broadcast, and Chuck Kelly
and Kelly Milligan will have
the play-by-play call. For
those listening inside the sta-
dium, a clearer signal may be
found on the Road Radio fre-
quency of 88.9 FM.
The game will also be
heard worldwide on KKGM’s
Web site, www.kkgmam.
com.
SPORTS BRIEFS
The Coppell Chamber Golf Classic, hosted by the Coppell
Chamber of Commerce, will be held at Hackberry Creek Coun-
try Club on October 20. Tee time is 1:00 p.m. The event will
include door prizes, goodie bags, contests, lunch, and an awards

TXA 21 announced that the 2008 High School Edge Game
of the Week will include Coppell High School playing Marcus
High as the featured football game at 11 p.m. on October 24.
The first annual “Mulligans for Melanoma” Golf Clas-
sic, hosted by the Bradley O’Martin Melanoma Foundation,
will be held at Bridlewood Golf Club, 4000 West Windsor Dr. in
Flower Mound on Wednesday, October 15, at 1:30 p.m. Cost is
$150 per golfer, which includes green fees, a golf cart with GPS,
range balls, lunch and awards dinner. For those who only attend
the dinner and silent auction the cost is $25. Proceeds benefit
melanoma research. Hole-in-one prizes include a 2009 Chevrolet
Tahoe among many other items. The Silent Auction will include
autographed sports memorabilia. Free skin cancer screenings
will be provided by Dr. Michael Maris from Dermatology Con-

lada and taco dinner on Friday,
October 10, in the CHS com-
mons area from 5:00 to 7:00
p.m., before the Southlake
Carroll football game Dinner
will be catered by Guero’s Mexi-
can Grill.
