The Cassin, also a Mahan class destroyer, is mostly sunken and lists starboard and rests against the Downes' port side. She has also taken severe hull damage. On the right of the dock is a crane and in the distance the USS Helena (CL-50), also damaged in the attack. On the left are buildings and people looking on the ships in the flooded dock. In front of the dock are two more men looking at the ships and guard rails damaged by the attack. Behind the dock, smoke from the sunken USS Arizona (BB-39) can be seen.
