The Tiger Marching
Band is currently involved
in two-a-day training camp
in preparation for the 1988
football season. Thirty-two
band members are practic-
ing marching drills and
perfecting their first march-
ing routine each morning.
Afternoons, they retire to
the coolness of the band

Andrew Jackson Key Reunion
The reunion was held
Sunday, August 14, at the
American Legion Hall in
Leonard. Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew Jackson Key had
twelve children, all deceas-
ed. Seven of the twelve
children were represented
at the reunion. There were
six in the Lexie Key Sinor’s
family, all from Oklahoma,
Ruby Craig., Margie and
Erliss Houston, Martha
Latona, and Dortha and
Turp Turnbull.
Wilma Key Blackwell
had two of her children’s
families present. From the
Oma Linert family were
Oletha Vaillant, Greenville;
Vera and Charles Atnip,
Leonard; and Elmer Ray
Linert, Denison. From the
Ozie Blackwell family were
his wife Buna and daugh-
ter, Nelda with her hus-
band Glen and son Collin of
Leonard. Oma and Ozie are
both deceased.
Frank Key’s family was
represented by Alma

nature tours, and fishing on
Lake Brownwood add pop-

present were Cyndy Feasel
of Rowlette, Lori DeShong,
Dallas, Alisa Wimpee,
Rockwall, Christy Compton
and Stephanie Turner.
Bernice Key Colvin,
deceased, had two daugh-
ters present, Vernell
Andrews and husband
Wayne of Grand Prairie
and Evelyn Rugg of Fort
Worth. Grandchildren of
Bernice present were Caro-
lyn Lightfoot and husband
Bob of Houston and Johnny
of Bryan. Willie Key Cook,
deceased had one daughter
Geraldine Cox of Lubbock
present.
There were four great-
great-great grandsons of
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew
Jackson Key in attendance.
Approximately sixty-
five people were present.
After sharing a summer
fresh garden meal together
family pictures and a video
were made. A donation was
taken for the East Shady
Grove Cemetery.
Plans are in the making
for the next reunion, always
the second Sunday in
August each year.
Brown sugar will keep soft if re-
moved from the package and placed
in a dry glass jar with a fresh peel
of lemon.
