Highway accidents cost our econ-
omy more than S74 billion a year, in
medical expenses, insurance costs,
lost productivity and the like.
It's a good thing we have the
U.S. Department of Transpor-
tation’s National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration (NHTSA) to
keep us safe and saving. It takes,
on average, only three months to
complete an investigation which in
the most serious cases can result in
a recall.
