A Runaway
There was nearly a eerious
runaway Wednesday afternoon,
when a livery stable team ran
away with Enoch Godby, from
the hotel to the 8outh corner of
the court house yard* He bad
just returned from a trip to the
country with a man, and was
starting to tuke the buggy and
team back to the stable. Just
as he was getting in. the team
dashed off and ran against a
*agon, throwing Mr. Godby
our. Then they did the running
stunt right, smashing a hind
wheel of Grovw Mullinax'
wagon. They kept speeding
till the tongue hit the telephone
pole at the South corner of the
court house yard* A horse
went on either side of the tele
phone pole, the buggy tongue
splintered, the hsrness stripped
off the horses and the top and
seat of the buggy knocked off
by the impact. Mr. Goo by was
only slightly biuised and
doesn't care to have another
runaway experience.
