Dear Sis + Walt:
O boy- Did you notice the new address? It's really a good address anyway. I'm O.K. so you don't need to worry about that. I went to the sick bay yesterday to get a little headache + cold fixed up (I hadn't been feeling good for a week or that is, since Tues.)- and they put me to bed + then later a ambulance came up with its siren blowing + the told me to hop in- I got in the front seat + we started the wild dash to the hospital here- It was quite a ride- with the roads icy + just 4 or 5 blocs to go. We picked up a couple of guys on the way that the driver knew- so why all the rush + the siren + everything is more than I know because I could have walked in the first place. I'm feeling swell now and getting paid for lying around, reading books + magazines + listening to the radio. Ol co. 29 will sure go to hell now with me out of it- eh- what?? There's several guys here from "29" to[sic]- so I'm not with strangers.
As for that picture frame- I'll try to bring one home with me when I come- they won't let me mail anything that's glass. And yes I saw "the good earth" + liked it.
I can't think of much else to write now- I've plenty of time to write so I'll write again tomorrow or the next day- bye for now.
Oh yes, I forgot to tell you- I'm supposed to have "cat-fever" but I can't feel it.
Love
Bud"
