Ideas Being made in La Coste------------

But Guerra said more than likely, it would take about three
years before Time Warner could expand into Castroville or
other parts of the county. He invited the cities interested in
the company to send him a profile of their city so Time Warner
could determine the economic feasibility of an expansion.
As cities face lower water permit allowances from the
Edwards Aquifer Authority, the officials discussed the avail-
ability of water for the county.
Keller said that at the last EAA meeting in Castroville the
idea was suggested to buy down permits from owners who did
not use all of the amount allotted.
Natalia City Secretary Josie Pompa, a former longtime
employee of the Bexar-Medina-Atascosa Counties Water
Control Improvement District, suggested officials research the
possibility °f purchasing water from the Medina Lake.
Pompa said neighboring Bandera County did buy water
from the lake and if Medina County approached the state
about the water they own, they may be allowed to do the
same.
Other topics at the meeting included ensuring residents are
trained for the Toyota plant, a Hill Country trail throughout
part of the county, subdivision rules and better communica-
tion among city officials and their county commissioner
representative.
Officials agreed they accomplished a lot at the meeting and
they set the next meeting for April in Devine.
The first meeting was held in Castroville last November
when that city’s Mayor Hancock thought of the idea of
quarterly meetings for officials countywide.
