An Ordinance authorising the call-
ing of a special election for the 14th
day of March. 1905. to submit to the
qualified taxpaying voters living and
owning property In Improvement Dis-
trict No. 8. In the City of San Anto-
nio Texas as tn whether the said city
shall issue $75000 bonds on the credit
of said Improvement District No. 8
and levy a tax to pay the interest and
sinking fund on said bonds.
Whereas the City Council of the
City of San Antonio deems It ad-
visable to issue bonds of said City on
the credit of Improvement District
No. 8 as heretofore established by or-
dinance. for ths purpose hereinafter
mentioned; Therefore.
Be it ordalnod by the City Council
of the City of San Antonio. Section
1: That an election be held on the
14th day of March A. D.. 1905. at
which election the following proposi-
tion shall be submitted: Shall the
City Council of the City of San An-
tonio be authorised to issue bonds on
the credit of Improvement District
No. 8 in said City as heretofore es-
tablished by ordinance passed on the
2nJ day of January. 1905 by the City
Council of said City and of record In
minute book "Q” pages 391 to 392 in
ciuaive as provided by section 54. of
the charter of said City which be-
came effective July 1. 1903 1n the sum
of seventy-five thousand ($75000) dol-
lars payable in forty years after date
with option of redeeming said bonds
at any time after twenty years from
date bearing interest at the rate of
five per cent per annum payable semi-
annually. and to levy a tax sufficient
to pay the Interest on said bonds and
create a sinking fund sufficient to re-
deem them at maturity for the pur
pose of repairing the following maca-
damised streets within said district:
Water from Commerce to Refugio;
Matagorda from Narp to Camargo;
Ijisalle from Commerce to Lafitte;
Sycamore from Commerce to
Peach from Wyoming to Victoria;
Gonzales from Sycamore to Walnut;
from Water to Matagorda;
North from Alamo to Santa Clara;
Wyoming from Water to Walnut;
South from Alamo to Indianola; Go-
liad from Alamo to Peach; Victoria
from Water to lAbor; Lavaca from
Alamo to Perdido; Barrera from
Alamo to Perdido: Camargo from

Storm water sewers with necessary
manholes and inlets to be constructed
along the Water street ditch from
East Commerce to South Alamo
street and said ditch covered up.
Section 2. That the territory em-
braced within said Improvement Dis-
trict No. 8 as heretofore established
shall constitute an electton precinct
for the purpose of aforesaid election.
Section 3: That said election shall
be held In the building No. 548 Goliad
street In said district and the follow-
ing named person Is hereby appointed
manager of said election to-wit:

Section 4: Said election shall be
held under the provisions of chapter
149. acts of the 26th Legislature laws
1899 and In accordance with the pres
ent charter of the City of San Anto-
nio. and only qualified taxpaying vot-
ers living and owning property within
said District No. 8 In said city shall
be allowed to vote and all voters de-
siring to support the proposition to
Issue bonds shall have printed on
their ballots the words "For the Issu-
ance of bonds" and those opposed
shall have printed on their ballots the
words “Against the Issuance of
bonds.” The manner of holding said
election shall be governed by the
laws of the state regulating general
elections.
Section 5: A copy of this order
signed by the mayor of said city shall
serve as a notice of said election and
the mayor is directed to cause said
notice to be posted up at the place
designated for holding said election at
least twenty days prior to the date
of said election and published at least
twenty days prior to said election In
some dally paper of said city.
