The B g Tent.
"A Brother's Crime' drew a packed
house at the Big Tent theater last
night. The story as the players told
it drew enthusiastic applause. It
abounds in human interest and is
filled with climaxes. It will be re-
peated this evening while tomorrow
night the bill will be "Bachelors
Romance.”
The Lyric.
Hadji the mind reader excited the
Interest of a large crowd at the Lyric
last night where a vaudeville bill was
also put on. Miss Ruby Lusby in
character songs and in a skit con-
tinues to make friends. The imper-
sonations pleased the crowd whilo
the illustrated song was a feature.
The same bill will be put on this
evening and for the remainder of the
week.
The Em ire.
The vogue of "The Lady From
Laramie' continues and the Empire
theater is thronged at every perform-
ance. Those who saw Miss Bunting
in "Pretty Miss Nobody” and were
delighted with hei"'».iarming delinea-

Fine Vaudeville at the Grand.
Bubbling over with merriment scin-
tillating with new jokes well told as
well as some of the best of the old
ones and sparkling at every point
with the best features in vaudeville
an all-star company began a five
nights engagement at the Grand
opera house last night. Some of the
"turns were greeted with storms of ap-
plause and all of them pleased the
audience. There was a fair house. As
the merit ci the production becomes
better known capacity houses will be
the rule because nothing like it has
been seen at the Grand this season.
The Two Be Anos a man and a
woman are clever contortionist? and
mix a goodly measure of fun with
their work Cleona Pearl-Fell recites
well but dances better. Her buck and
wing dance made a hit. The Dowt-
ings in a sketch "Lot's Wife" were
intensely funny. They have a vehicle
for the display of their talents that is
marked by the absence of slap suck
work and yet studded with the right
sort of humor. But Arthur Deming—-
here is where the house grinned then
tittered and finally burst into spon-
taneous laughter. Deming is one of
the few men who can mane an aud-
ience scream with no apparent ef-
fort. He can sing tell a story or crack
a joke to compare with any minstrel
the town has ever seen.

which they produced music from
YOUR Home will be healthier when you keep bottled
Schlitz. The barley is food—the hops are a tonic. And
the drinking of liquids flushes the system of waste.
Every doctor knows that most people drink too little.
On this account their systems become clogged with waste.
There lies the main good of watering places. They
induce the drinking of water.
That is one reason why the drinking of beer is good
for you. fit leads you to drink more liquid than you would
drink without it. And that liquid is both a food and a tonic.
The sturdiest peoples of the earth drink the most of it.
But be sure that the beer is aged so it will not cause
biliousness. And be sure it is pure.
Schlitz beer is all healthfulness.
Ask for the Brewery Bottling.
U Common beer is sometimes substituted for Schlitz.
To avo id being imposed upon see that the cork or crown is branded Schliit.

strange instruments. Miss May Wal-
lace first as a widow then a cavalier
and finally a society bud all in cos-
tume made it apparent that she is
familiar with fast company in the
vaudeville field. George Austin Moore
was repeatedly encored after his vo-
cal numbers and exhausting his repar.
toire was compielled to respond to the
round of applause with a story.
Th : bill culminated in Mazuz and
Mazett in their comedy acrobatic act
entitled “The T. ~mp and the Brako-
man." They are clever and inject a
large measure of comedy into ths
turn. k
All in all the bill has merit from
top to bottom and is worthy of packed
houses during the engagement.
"The Ham Tree.”
Mclntyre and Heath will be the at-

and Sunday and Monday nights ii
Klaw & Erlanger’s big production of
the musical novelty "The Ham Tree"
which has prowd one of the greatest
laughing successes tne American stage
has ever known. These comedians
have no equals in the delineation of
quaint negro characters and they are
funnier than ever in their career in
“The Ham Tree.” The book is by
George V. Hobart the lyrics by Will-
iam Jerome and the catchy music by
Jean Schwartz. Klaw & Erlanger
have been most lavish in the brilliant
and gorgeous production and have
surrounded their new stars with a
company of real excellence. Promi-
nent in their support are the stat-
uesque Jeanne Towler. Carolyn Gor
don. Jong a favorite with the Daly mu-
sical productions and Belle Gold. A
special feature is the chorus of fasci
natingly pretty girls who do some
wonderfully attractive singing and
dancing specialties and admitted by
all who have seen “The Ham Tree” to
have no equal.
Mme. sembrich.
The following notice from a New
York paper referring to Mme. Marcella
Sembrich. who comes to Beethoven hall
on Friday evening under the direction
of Loudon Charlton will be read with
Interest by local music-lovers who are
looking forward to a treat of an un-
usual sort:
"Filling all the available space la
Carnegie hall an audience as enth'i
slastic as it was numerous spent two
hours with Marcella Sembrich great-
est artist among coloratura sopranos.
Matinee audlvncen are usually unden
onstrative. if not cold-blooded But
Marcella Sembrlch's concerts are an
'-xceptfon After every contrlbutior
yesterday the noise was deafening ano
at such times the sea of beplumed
hats in the parquet would be stirred
into a foaming mass of millinery.”
That Sembrich's coming will be an
event which will make the present
season a memorable one is a fact that
requires no emphasis. No singer in
America lias won such a following as
that possessred by the great Polish
soprano. Seats are now on sale at
Goggan's music store corner of Houl-
ton and Navarro streets.
