good scores. The Eagles rolled an

300. These were by far the best aver-
ages made in any of the games rolled

city. The Eagles won the first by. 49

Before one of the largest and most
enthusiastic crowd of rooters last
night the Owls flew away with all
honors at Sommers’ alleys. They not
only won both games from Socials
but also were second in making the
best pin average in all the contests
rolled last night having an average
of 315 or a total for both games of
629. The Eagles’ total was 631 pins
for both games just one to the good.
The Socials established two new rec-
ords the low inning with 14 pins and
low game with 191 pins. Every man
on the Owl team did excellent work
last night.

The Laurels were invincible yester-

from the Fern Leaf in the afternoon
on the Beethoven alleys the first by
73 and the second by 5 pins. The
first was an easy proposition for the
Laurels but in the second the Fern
Loaf bowled splendidly and should
have won but it was not to be. The
last lady up on both sides in the sixth
inning decided the winner. The Lau-
rel lady was the lucky one; she made
five more pins thaw her opponent
winning the game for her team by

There is this much about it—that
herd of ours threw a large sized scare
into Maloney’s men at Trinity town in
Uie opening clash of the engagement
which took place yesterday afternoon.
The way the Bronchos cavorted
around the corners of the Dallas dia-
mond evidently had Jack Gardner and
bis faithful followers wondering ho.v
it would all end.
So terrific was the cannonading that
Maloney deemed it fit and proper to
give Moore the hook and yank him
out of the game. Cooper replac-
ed Moore but the Bronchos main-
tained the lead the score bein;
3 to 2 for San Antonio up to the final
re und.
Then came the disaster. Wincheil
who had been pitching a swell article I
of ball seemed to improve as the gam 3 1
wore on but his support was not in *
keeping with his work. Five bobbles
by his teammates do not augur well
for the work of the herd. Something
terrible must have happened for hi
the final round the Giants raced in
two runs turning the score to 4 to J.
Dallas.

BOTTLED BfeER
is a beer of QUALITY but that is not the whole story. It
has individual merit which is the real reason for its great
popularity. Its rich flavor and delicate aroma add to its
palatable and appetizing properties—and its small per-
centage of alcohol (less than 3% per cent) places it in the
ranks of truly temperance drinks.
