Miss Dianna Mueller Becomes Bride of
Vernon Surman Saturday in La Grange
Miss Dianna Marie Mueller
became the bride of Vernon
James Surman of Houston in
a double ring ceremony
performed Saturday, June
23, at two-thirty o’clock in
the afternoon in St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church in La
Grange. Rev. Clarence Oes-
treich of La Grange and
Rev. Robert Schmidt of
Moulton officiated before an
altar adorned with arrange-
ments of white gladiolus.
Baskets of white glads were
placed in front of the church,
and the pews were decorated
with large white bows, ivy,
and flowers.
Wedding music was provi-
ded by Mary Ann Hruska,
and soloist was Mrs. Jack
Weidemann.
Serving as acolyte was
Mark Lincke.
Parents of the couple are
Mr and Mrs Carl B
Mueller of La Grange and
Mr and Mrs. James J.
Surman of Moulton.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was attired
in a hand-clipped, pearled,
and scalloped imported chan-
tilly lace gown fashioned,
with a high neckline, long
fitted sleeves, and bolero
effect bodice. The gown was
also styled with a chapel
length train. Her veil of
English illusion and tulle
cascaded from an Alencon
lace and pearled tiara She
carried a bouquet of white
chrysanthemums surrounded
with pink, blue, and yellow
rosebuds, pastel colored dai-
sies, and baby’s breath.
Miss Janet Scholtz of La
Grange served her friend as
maid of honor. Bridesmaids
were Misses Debbie Lincke,
friend of the bride of La
Grange; Elizabeth Surman,
sister of the groom of San
Antonio; and Jo Ann Sur-
man, the groom’s sister of
Moulton. They wore floral
printed polyester gowns on a
white background lined in
blue designed with an empire
waistline, three-tiered full
skirt, square neckline, and
puff sleeves. The - skirt,
neckline, and sleeves were
trimmed with white lace.
They wore large-brimmed
blue hats with white velvet
trim and carried bouquets of
pastel colored daisies, blue
carnations, and baby's
breath.
Miss Rebecca Voss, the
bride’s cousin of La Grange,
served as flower girl She
was attired in a dress
similar to the bridesmaids
except lined in white.
James. C. Surman of
Moulton served his brother
as best man Groomsmen
were Ervin Chaloupka of
Moulton, friend of the
groom; Gerald Janecka, also
a friend of the groom of San
Antonio; and Thomas Muel-
ler, the bride’s brother of La
Grange.

Mueller, brother of the bride
of La Grange.

Flatonia, Richard Surman of
Moulton, and David Zimmer-
mann and Wayne Voss of La

For her daughter’s wed-
ding, Mrs. Mueller selected a
blue crepe knit dress styled
with a stand-up collar and
pin-tucked bodice and corn
plemented with white acces-
sories and white carnation
corsage.
The groom’s mother, Mrs.
Surman, chose to wear for
her son's marriage a laven-
der dress with white acces-
sories and a white carnation
corsage.
The grandmothers, Mrs.
Agnes Albers, Mrs. Lydia
Mueller, and Mrs Charlie
Vinklarek, each received a
white carnation corsage.
Mrs Albers was attired in
an aqua dress with white
accessories, Mrs. Mueller
wore a green dress with
beige accessories, and Mrs.
Vinklarek wore a purple and
white dress with black
accessories.
A reception was held at the
VFW Hall where a meal of
barbecued chicken and sau-
sage with all the trimmings
was served.

on Anniversary Sunday
The Home Demonstration
Kitchen near La Grange was
the scene Sunday, June 24,
for a surprise wedding
anniversary honoring Mr.
and Mrs. Edgar Albrecht.
The couple was married 45
years ago by Rev A. E.
Moebus at Zion Lutheran
Church (now Mt. Calvary) in
La Grange. The ceremony
took place on Sunday, June
24, 1928, at 5:00 P.M Edgar
and Annie Joost Albrecht
were the first couple to be
married in the then new
church on its dedication day.
Upon their arrival, the

sage was a cluster of
multi -shaded pink carnations
accented with baby’s breath
and tied with pink ribbon.

Mr. Albrecht’s mother, Mrs.
Fritz Albrecht, wore a pink
carnation corsage
The hall was decorated
with pink, yellow, and green
streamers. The head table
was covered with a white
cloth and held a bouquet of
pink and red summer flow-
ers.
The registration table held
an arrangement of daisies,
along with a wedding picture
of the couple. Misses Marsha
and Brenda Hunger and Miss
Nancy Hensel presided over
the guest register.
The anniversary cake was
a three-tiered yellow con-
fection decorated with tiny
pink roses and mint green
leaves. On top of the cake
stood the numerals '45.' The
cake was baked and served
by Mrs. Eugene Hunger.
A buffet style luncheon
was served in the afternoon.
The celebration was hosted
by the couple's daughter and
son-in-law and grandsons,
Annette and Fred -Eilert,
Kenneth, John, George, and
Glenn.
The couple received many
lovely and useful gifts.

Campo, Schulenburg, Plum,
Smithville, Austin, Olden-

purple cornflowers, and palm
