UNITED -STATES PATENT OFFICE.
GEORGE YEAGER, OF FLATONIA, TEXAS.
IMPROVEMENT IN SPRAY-NOZZLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 219,337, dated September 2, 1879; application filed
Aplil 26, 1879.To all whom it nmay concern:
Be it known that I, GEO GE YEAGER, of
Flatonia, in the county of Fayette and State
of Texas, have invented certain new and use-
ful Improvements ii Pumps; and I do hereby
declare that the following is a full, clear, and
exact description of the construction and op-
eration of the same, reference being had to
the annexed drawing, making a part of this
specification, and to the letters and figure of
reference marked thereon.
Identical parts in the drawing are desig-
nated and referred to by the same letters.
The figure represents a perspective view of
my improved spray-nozzle, partly in section.
This invention has relation to spray-nozzles
adapted to be applied to force-pumps for forc-
ing a spray of poisoned liquid upon growing
cotton or other plants, to protect them from
the ravages of cotton-worms and insects; and
it consists in the improvements in the con-
struction of the nozzle, hereinafter fully de-
scribed, and particularly pointed out in the
claim.
Referring to the drawing, F represents the
atomizing or spray nozzle, which consists of
the body f, provided with the perforated zonefl and the threaded flanges fa and caps f for
closing the same.
This device is preferably formed round, and
the caps attached by threads; but I do not
wish to confine myself to this form of attach-
ment.
This nozzle may be attached to any ordi-
nary force-pump adapted to be transported
through the field for the purpose of spraying
the plants with poisonous fluids.
Having thus described my invention, what
I claim as new, and desire to secure by Let-
ters Patent, is-
In a nozzle for force-pumps for applying
atomized poisonous fluids to cotton and other
plants, the perforated zone f', in combination
with the body f and the removable caps f3,
as and for the purposes substantially as set
forth.
In testimony that I claim the above I have
hereunto subscribed my name in the presence
of two witnesses.
GEORGE YEAGER.
