. A dazzling array of handmade Christmas goodie* will greet
, you Saturday at the Denton Civic Center
* From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day, 30 area clubs will offer the
crafts, flower arrangements, toys, holiday decorations and
: baked goods their members created
The fourth annual Christmas Gala, sponsored by the
Garden Culture Club, will tempt you with these items for sale
by the clubs as the future gifts and remembrances await your
inspection at various booths and tables in the center
There will also be a lunch offered in the north meeting
room. Mrs Russell Vernon of the Garden Culture Club
commented. And snacks will be available during the day
The funds raised from the bazaar will be used for the
various clubs' projects
Religious paintings enhance
local nursing home chapel
Two illuminated pictures were presented to Silver Leaves
Nursing Home this week by members of the Baptist Women's
Missionary organization of First Baptist Church
The pictures, the Lord’s Supper and a portrait of Christ
will hang in the chapel at the home
In making the presentation to Silver Leaves activities ,
director Susie Mahoney, Mrs Dan B McEntire said, It is
our prayer that the lights glowing upon these pictures will
bring peace, memories and many hours of God's love to all of
you here at Silver Leaves"
Sixth Interline Wives' event
to star high-flying models
Denton * airline pilots will come down from the clouds for a
brief time Thursday, to join their wives and children in
modeling for the sixth annual Interline Wives' luncheon at
the Denton Country Club
‘ Sponsored by the American Airline Wives Club, the lun-
cheon will feature a style show with fashions presented by
Russell’s Department Store Clothing for children through
adults will be shown by the pilots and their families
Participating clubs in the event are Delta, Braniff Texas
International. Continental and T W A. Airlines Wives groups
Members of the American Airline Wives committee
coordinating the luncheon are Nedra Mitchell. Ginny
Schafer. Dee Magee, Evelyn Naughton, Gail Schultz. Ann

Demonstration Club at a Thursday meeting in the Aubrey
Community Building

will host Monday reception
The Students' Wives Auxiliary of the Texas College of
Osteopathic Medicine will host a reception in Fort Worth
Monday in the lobby of the TCOM Administration Building
The reception will follow the official groundbreaking
ceremony for TCOM s Medical Education Building I

book to early romantic works
Members of the Ariel Club Literature Department heard
Mrs Olna Boaz give a program on the early romantic
movement in American literature at their Monday meeting
Gathering at the home of Mrs Claude Campbell, with Mrs
James Dougherty serving as cobostess, the group, was
presented a review of the Gothic romance “Wieland" by
Charles Brockdown Brown to illustrate the period Mrs Boaz
said Brown was the first professional writer in the United
States

Mrs Martin B Olson reviewed “One Small Candle” for
members ot the Literature Department of the Woman's
