A property appraisal, needed for serious city -county
bargaining over possible transferral of the county annex,
may be ready for submission to commissioners court
Monday
The item is placed on the agenda, along with consideration
of the Carroll Courts Building, ui case architects making the
appraisal complete it in time for the 9 am court session
__County Judge Dan Trammell requested the appraisal last
week, after a renewal of negotiations for possible sale of the
annex to I he City of Denton ________
Like those who have gone before
salutatorian of his graduating class at the North
Central Texas Council of Governments Police
Academy, the four th class in a row in which Denton
officers have taken one of the top two honors.
The court Monday also will consider action - either en-
dorsement or disapproval — on proposed legislation sub-
nutted by Denton s district judges that would remove court
bailiffs from the jurisdiction of the sheriff’s office and place
them under court authority.
Appointments to the Denton County Historical Commission
are scheduled, and the court also will consider terms of office
for three additional members named last week to the Child
Welfare Board -------——
Other agenda items include a presentation on microfilming
operations in the district clerk and county clerk offices and a
request from Frymire Engineering for authority to make
street cuts for sewer-line installations in The Colony.

crowded schools, the superintendent said
Stuver said the district gained some 900 students during the
past 12-month period and that the rapid growth trend shows
no signs of declining

schedules are depleted, he said
' Trustees Monday are expected to discuss the district's
building needs and to authorize the district to sell bonds
should an election pass
Stuver said the proposed election would not be scheduled

The Air Forte Junior ROTC unit at Denton High School
recently honored outstanding cadets during the first school
quarter
Outstanding cadet of the quarter awards were given to
Tony Freeman, first year, and Jackie Waller, second year
The award is based on points earned in academics, leader
ship and cocurricular activities such as drill team
Other cadets received awards for academic; leadership
and extracurricular activities
The ROTC unit is in its second year at the high school and
has 45 students enrolled It is one of 275 such units in U.S. high
schools
