Couple exchanges wedding vows
Dena Guenter of Bloomington
and Kevin Heil of Port Lavaca ex-
changed wedding vows on Satur-
day. August 21, at 3 p.m. at St.
Michael’s Catholic Church with
Rev. Charles Carolan officiating
over the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Richard Guenter of
Bloomington.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Leroy Heil of Cuero.
Wedding music was presented
by organist, Mrs. Billye Southern.
Soloists were Mrs. Catherine
Rabke and Mrs. Shirley Prause who
sang "Time in a Bottle", "In This
Quiet Hour", "The Wedding Song",
"The Lords Prayer", "I'll Still Be
Loving You" and "If, Scriptual
reading was given by Beth
Polansky.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a wedding gown
designed by T.C. Originals. The
candlelight ivory satin gown with
cathedral length train was high-
lighted with beads, sequins and
lace. A Queen Anne neckline ac-
cented the fitted bodice.
The bride wore a tiara accented
with pearls and a finger tip length
veil.
The bride wore a pearl necklace .
and tear drop pearl earrings and
carried a cascading bouquet of
ivory roses and gardenias accented
with peach roses and pearl beading.
Dec Anna Kvcton, sister of the
bride, served as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Melissa Anderle,
Susan Gallaway, sister of the
groom, and Sareth Nino.
The attendants wore peach taf-
feta fitted bodice dresses with full
skirts. They carried bouquets of a
peach roses accented with baby’s |

Recipe Corner
Texas-Size Berry Muffins
1 Cup 3 Minute Brand Quick Oats
Plus Oat Bran
1 1/2 Cup buttermilk backing mix
(use regular or reduced-fat Bisquick)
3/4 Cup granulated sugar
3/4 Cup chopped pecans
1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
2 Tablespoons butter, melted
2 Eggs, beaten
1 (8 oz.) carton mixed berry or
raspberry low-fat yogurt
1/2 Cup fresh or frozen raspberries
1/2 Cup fresh or frozen blackberries
or blueberries (about 24)
Streusel Topping
1/3 Cup flour
1/4 Cup light brown sugar
2 Tablespoons butter or margarine,melted
1/4 Cup chopped pecans
in large bowl, combine oats, buttermilk baking mix, sugar and pecans;
mix well and set aside. In small bowl, combine yogurt, butter, eggs and
I vanilla extract; mix well. Fold into dry ingredients. Do not over mix.
Spray muffin cups with no-stick cooking spray; divide batter to fill 6
| muffin cups.
Place 4 raspberries and 4 blackberries in each muffin, pressing down
slightly. In small bowl, combine streusel ingredients and mix until
crumbly, sprinkle over muffins. Bake in a 400 degree oven for about
22-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 5 minutes, remove from
muffin cups. Make 6 Texas-size muffins. To make regular-size muffins,
follow directions except divide hatter to fill 12 muffin cups. Bake for 18
minutes.

Bloomington High School and at-
tends Victoria College. She is
employed by BHP Engineering and
Construction.
The groom is a 1985 graduate of
Cuero High School and a 1989
graduate of Texas A&M Fire
Academy. He is employed by the
City of Port Lavaca as a firefighter.
Special guests were Mrs. Mae
Hendricks, grandmother of the
bride; Mrs. Ella Heil, grandmother
of the groom; Miss Edna Hans,
great-aunt of the groom and Mrs.

comprehensive two-day Advanced
Cardiac Life Support class June 26
and 27 at Victoria College.
The course was developed by the
American Heart Association for
health care professionals who need
to know the recommended treat-
ments for critical care patients prior

respiratory arrest.

ten and skills exams and becoming
