WICHITA FALLS FACTORY PROP-
OSITION.
Wichita Falls is one of the livest
propositions in the Southwest, and to
not hesitating to bring into practical
play her evary natural resource, as
well as every advantage of other good
fortune. One of the latent attractions
held up before the eyes of the manu-
facturer to 10-cent manufacturing gas.
With this handy-fuel-at-se-low-Apre.
and with railway facilities of the very
beet sort, there should be something
doing in the line of the tin bucket
brigade at Wichita Falls.—Texas Trade
Review and Industrial Record.
If Wichita Falls turns down the pav-
ing bond issue such reference as is
frequently being made as above will
cease to be printed. These live wire
references by newspapers and period-
icals are valuable publicity assets and
attract the attention of men who do
things.

their property, and unless they do this
voluntarily, or for say cause do not
see fit to comply with the ordinance
there need be no fear that the city will
put the paving down in front of their
property and charge the expense of
same to the property-owner, for the
simple reason the city its financially
unable fo do the work and carry the
account on its books against the prop
erty for, five years. In other words,
property omners who do not-wish to
put down the paving will not be forced

W. L. GREY RECEIVES PROMOTION
---
Former Chief Dispatcher le Named as
Trainmaster. . ' 5
w. I. Grey, formerly truin dispatch-
er of the Mexican Central, haa been
appointed trainmaster of the Mexico
division, which extends from Ban Juan
del Rio to Mexico City and from Mex-
ico City to Balsas and from Lech-
erta to Honey, vice L. 8. Bourne, re-
signed. .
Mr. Grey is one of the best known
railroad men in this republic. He has
a host of friends throughout Mexico
who will be glad to learn of the pro-
motion which he has so well deserved.
For the past year Mr. Grey has been
chief train dispatcher of the heaviest
division of any of Mexico’s railways
and has earned for himself a very en-
viable reputation, both for ability and
energy, as well aa a thorough under-
standing of railway work. He 4# one
of the few old-time expert telegraph-
era left in the service today.
The above is taken from the Mexi-
can Herald of the City of Mexico. Mr.
Grey was formerly a dispatcher for the
''Denver,'' with headquarters in this
city, leaving a little over a year ago
to accept a position as dispatcher is
Mexico. He was soon made chief dis:
patcher and then trainmaster. He has
many friends in Wichita Falls who are
proud to learn of his good fortune and
hope to hear of further good news of
this character.

TOMORROW’S ELECTIONS
____At tomorrow's elections,which are to
be held at the city ball, the ticket to
. be voted for in the independent school
district election will read as follows:
For the Tax.
——Again the. Tax,------
For the Issuance of Bonds.
Against the Issuance of Bonds
In this connection it might be well
enough to say that the district is al-
lowed to levy 50 cents on the $100 val-
uation an oil taxable property in it,
and no more, and unless the tax is
levied it will be impossible to have
” public schools.
A portion of this 50 cent school tax
will be set aside to pay interest and
create a sinking fund to pay off the
$60,000 worth of school bonds, which
propostlon is to be voted on at the
t name time and place as the 50 cents
e school tax proposition. Both proposi-
tions will be printed on the same tick-
et. If the school bonds are not voted
and the school tax carries, the tax
will be just the same as if the bond
issue had carried, as it will require at
least a 50-cent tax on all property in
the district to maintain the schools,
therefore those who favor the tax
should also favor the issuance of the
bonds, and make their tickets accord-
ingly.
On the other hand, those who do not
favor the issuance of the bonds, in or-
der to make their votes count, should
draw a pencil mark through the lines,
‘‘For the Tax” and ‘ Against the Is-
suance of Bonds.’’
At the same time and place another
election is to be held to decide whether
street paring bonds to the amount of
$17,000, to draw interest at the rate of
4% per cent per annum shall be issued.
These bonds are to be in denomina-
Respect fully.
