first-rate equipment will con-

satisfy that requirement.
Uniforms and other equip-

The greatest need we had
with our band program was
our need for new uniforms.
Thanks to the local band
boosters, we now have the
new uniforms. They raised
most of the money with fund-
raising activities and with a
little help from the Board,
this dream became a reality.
We appreciate the support of
the band boosters and the

One of our most pressing
needs at this time is the
renovation of our track field.
Last year, I asked for an
estimate to resurface and
re-line the field. Hold your
breath—$40,000. That is as
much as the entire original
cost ten years ago. Just to fill
in the cracks and re-line
would be $10,000 and we
would still have the low,
dangerous areas that have
sunken. You might visit with
our board members and let
your concern be known. But,
if some major renovation is
not done soon, we will have

The teachers and adminis-
trators traveled to Panhandle
Monday afternoon, March
10, to take the TECAT exam.
I am confident that they will
all pass with flying colors.
It is exciting that we have
so many interested, qualified
people who have filed for the
school board. It is nice that
people will devote the time*
and energy to these posi-
tions. If you are going to be
out of town April 5, come by
and vote absentee at Joyce’s
office. Absentee voting is
held March 17 through April
1.
