Edna Rose Leven, daughter of Barbara
and Herman Leven, plans to go to Amarillo
College. Her hobbies are horse back
riding, swimming and reading. She also
enjoys bowling, she won fifth place in the
Pantex Goodtimers Bowling League.
Rose has been a members of FHA for
four years and on the Tiger Tale staff for
one year.

Hank is the son of Mrs. Eileen
McConnell.
His sports activities included football
four years, being selected Most Valuable
Player in football his senior year; all
district tackle, captain, one year; track four
years, regional qualifier, two years in
discus and one year, shot.
Active in FFA, he served as an officer
one year. He participated in one act play
and served on Student Council one year.
He was selected FHA Doe Boy, 2 years;
Mr. Valentine; Class Favorite, two years
and All School Favorite his senior year. He
served his class as secretary and treasurer
in his sophomore year.
He plans to attend West Texas State
University in the fall.

Terri Mae Rose
Terri is the daughter of Howard and
Mary Rose.
She enjoys counted cross stitching,
reading and writing in her spare time.
Terri was a member of FHA for four
years, Pep Club for four years and on the
staff of the Tiger Tale for one year.
She won fourth in district UIL Headline
writing competition.
She plans to attend Wayland University
majoring in journalism.

Kenton Arletus Ruthardt
Ken served as President of the senior
class this year. He was also selected FHA
Beau, class favorite for two years and his
sophomore year he served as class vice
president.
Active in sports he played for four years
and was named to all-district one year. He
competed in basketball four years being a
track regional qualifier three years. He was
captain of the football team and awarded
the Fighting Tiger award.
He was also a member of FFA for three
years and active in United Methodist Youth
group at his church.
The son of Louis and Judy Ruthardt, he
plans to attend Southwest Texas in San
Marcos.
Groom Flying Service
Andrew Neal Waxier
Andy is the son of Sue Britten
and the late Jack Waxler. Andy has
participated in Football for four years. He
has also excelled in UIL One Act Play.
He excelled in FFA and related activities
thoughout his four years at Groom High.
Andy received many honors including
State qualifier on the dairy judging team
and reserve champion steer at the Carson
County Show. He will also receive the
Lone Star Farmer degree this summer at
the State Convention.
His hobbies are working on his pickup,
hunting and riding horses. Andy hopes to
be a mechanic and own his own business.
He is planning to attend Amarillo College
this fall.

Carmel Lei York
Tim has plans to attend St. Mary’s
University in San Antonio and begin
studies in pre-law. He served as president
of the Student Council this year and was a
member of FFA four years, French Club,
two years, treasurer and president. Active
in UIL his awards included Informa-
tive Speaking, regional qualifier; spelling
regional qualfier; Science regional quali-
fier; FFA Swine Production; All-Region
Band; Citizen of the Month; ILPC News,
second; sports, third; PHSPA, newswrit-
ing honorable mention; Mr. Valentine
runner-up one year and Sophomore Class
president.
Active in sports he played football, three
years; track three years; tennis, one year.
The son of Patrick and Maggie Wein-
heimer, he enjoys snow skiing, playing the
piano and traveling. He is an active
member of St. Mary’s Church and the CYO
serving as reporter, vice president, and
president.
Photography, snow skiing and singing
are favorite activities for Carmel, the
daughter of Mrs. Kenneth Jackson and
Mr. Richard York.
She was a member of the French Club,
FHA, reporter and vice president; PHSPA,
vice president, one year; student council,
president, one year; class treasurer and
student council representative.
She was a regional qualifier in typing
one year; poetry, two years; persuasive
speaking, two years; headline, one year;
editorial, two years; ready writing, one
year; one act play, District all-star cast;
State qualifier in editorial, fourth place,
solo qualifier.
She is a member of First Baptist Church
and performs as soloist when called upon.
She plans to attend the University of .
Texas at Austin.
She will spend her summer in Dallas as
she has been accepted by AFTECH into a
employment training program for
college age students.
