at a convention in New
Orleans, La.
Helen Witt was one of the
hostesses for the annual
poetry day luncheon at the
Tascosa Country Club in
Amarillo Saturday. Guest
speaker was Dr. Marvin
Hirsh of Dallas, president of .
the Poetry Society of Texas.
Lucille Case had lunch
with her daughter Billie
Ruth Lewis in Panhandle
Monday.
Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts of Den I
helped week before last to
raise the flag for the Groom-
Vega football game. The
Den met last Thursday for a
program on bicycle safety.
They planned a field trip to
the Harrell Ranch near
Claude where the group will
visit a cave containing Indian
drawings.
Methodist Women
United Methodist Women
met Tuesday, Oct. 13 at the
church. Mrs. Jerry Lee
Moore, president, presided
for the business session and
reminded the members of
the Annual Harvest Dinner
Oct. 18 and the District
meeting of the Pampa Dis-
trict, Oct. 20.
Mrs. Moore was program
leader of the topic “The
Horse That Jill Built”.
Those taking part were Julia
McGee, Mrs. Roy Ritter,
Mrs. A.J. Babcock and Mrs.
E.C. Goodlett.
Mrs. Babcock was hostess
for the fellowship time to
conclude the meeting.

were Mrs. O.P. Blackwell,
Ms. L.T. Banks, Mr. and
Mrs. Curtis Schaffer, Mrs.
N.B. Helton, Mrs. Glynn D
Harrell, Mrs. John Eschle,
and Mrs. E.W. Lamberson.
Hattie Terbush was taken
by Groom Ambulance Ser-
vice to Southwest Osteo-
pathic Hospital in Amarillo
Monday. She injured her hip
in a fall. Attendants were
Lynn Pool and Brent
Stephens.
Mary Ann Koetting and
family attended funeral ser-
vices for her father, Paul
Sestak, 83, in Mary’s Home,
Mo. Sunday, October 18.
Kountry Kousins
The regular meeting of
Kountry Kousins was called
to order by Vice President
Mary Howard in the absence
of President Toni Pavlovsky
in the home of Judy Eat-
mon on October 16.
Mrs. Howard presented
the 1988 slate of officers.

Judy Eatmon; Secretary/
Treasurer and Reporter,
Susan Turvaville; Telephone
and Sunshine Chairman,.

will be held at the Groom
Community Center on
November 20 at 12:30 p.m.
