Prepare For Annual
Junior Livestock Show
Kristy Case, a four year veteran of the the Carson County Livestock Show and Sale
show ring and her sister Kay,, showing for her next weekend. Members of the 4-H they are
second year, will be among competitors at daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Don Case.
The Carson County Junior
Livestock Show will be held
Saturday, Feb. 20. Local 4-H
and FFA members have
been preparing for months
for this event raising sheep,
pigs and steers for the
competition.
This week, those planning
to show animals in the event
are involved in their final
preparations. Extension
agent Fields has designated
Feb. 17 as the day to set up
the 16th due to a sche-
duling conflict at the agri-
culture building.
Local 4-H and FFA mem-
bers planning to exhibit
animals at the show are Leo
Britten, Bo Burgin, Melody
Burton, Kay Case, Kristy
Case, Brandon Crump,
Rocky Crump, Stoney,
Crump, Daryl Homer, Jill
Howard, Kyle Howard,
Richard Jenkins, Jimmy
Turville, Ben Weinheimer,
Jarrett Weinheimer, Luke
Weinheimer and Matt Wein-
heimer.

Farmers Still Can
Enroll Erodible
Land With ASCS
Texas farmers have
another opportunity to enroll
highly erodible land in the
Conservation Reserve Pro-
gram.
This signup period is Feb.
1 to Feb. 19. Farmers may
enroll land at Agricultural
Stabilization and Conserva-
tion Service county offices
where previously accepted
bids do not exceed 25 per-
cent of the cropland in the
county.
“The February signup is
the sixth since the program
got underway two years ago,
points out Dr. B.L. Harris,
soils specialist with the
Texas Agricultural Exten-
sion Service, The Texas
A&M University System.
“Texans have already en-
rolled 2.8 million acres in
CRP, and nationally about
half of the 45 million acres

judge’s office in Panhandle.

per hour machinery working
to demolish the Motel.

Eschle farm.
PTO will meet Monday
night at 7:00 p.m. in the
school cafeteria.

meet Friday, Feb. 19 in the
home of Leslie Crowell at
1:00 p.m.
