Tigers Travel Friday For Season Opener
The Groom Tigers
hosted the Hedley Owls
in a scrimmage here last
week. The Tigers were
focused and ready to
play. They put on a
great performance,
showing much
improvement from the
last scrimmage against
3rd ranked Lazbuddie.
"I was very proud of
the team,” stated Head feel they have

1998School Budget
Of $1,559,005.00
Groom Independent
School District Board of
Trustees met in regular
session on August 26,
1997. Attending the
meeting were Barry
Fields, Tony Treadwell,
Dennis Babcock, Pat
Britten, Adela Kotara,
Tony Britten, Tim Case,
Ben Ingham, Joyce
Hutsell and Danny
Chisum.
Minutes from the
previous meeting were
approved with a
correction as follows:
Adela Kotara abstained
when voting to make the
State National Bank of
Groom the official school
depository.
The Board discussed
long range plans for
maintenance and upkeep
of the building and
grounds. No action was
taken as a result of the
discussion.
The Board went into
executive session at 9:00
pm and returned to open
session at 9:40 pm.
