CHRISTIAN W. HESS, OF BRENHAM, TEXAS.
PATTERN FOR BRIDLE-BLINKERS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 325,836, dated September 8, 1885.
Application filed Apii 4, 1885. (No model.)To all whorw it n7ay concern:
Be it known that I, CHRISTIAN W. HESS,
of Brenham, in the county of Washington and
State of Texas, have invented certain new and
5 useful Improvements in Patterns for Bridle-
Blinkers, of which the following is a specifi-
cation.
The object of this invention is to provide
improved patterns for bridle-blinkers whereby
to the latter can be made cheaply by utilizing
waste scraps of leather.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1
illustrates a bridle-blinker composed of these
improved patterns in connection with the bri-
15 dle. Fig. 2 is an enlarged view of a bridle-
blinker composed of these improved patterns.
Fig. 3 is a plan view of the pattern which
constitutes the concavo-convex portion of the
blinker. Fig. 4 is a plan view of the pattern
20 constituting the upper flat portion of the
blinker. Fig. 5 is a plan view of the pattern
constituting the lower flat portion of the
blinker. Fig.6 is atransverse section of a bri-
dle-blinker composed of these improved pat-
25 terns.
Similar letters of reference indicate corre-
sponding parts in the different figures.
The pattern A constitutes the upper flat
portion of the bridle-blinker, and comprises
30 an approximately rectangular body, A', pro-
vided with a tongue, A'. This pattern is
bounded at its top and bottom by the short
straight horizontal sides a b, at its outeredge by the vertical side c, whereof the lower
end forms a right angle with the bottom side, 35
b, its upper end being below the plane of the
'top side, a, and by the inwardly-curved side
d,connecting the top side, a, and vertical side
e, and at its inner edge by a short slightly
curved or inclined side, e, which forms an ob- 40
tuse angle with the top side, a, and an up-
wardly-curved side, f, extending between the
side e and the bottom side, b.
The pattern C constitutes the lower flat por-
tion of the blinker, and has a straight vertical 45
side, j, and straight horizontal top and bottom
sides, i k, at right angles thereto, its bottom
side, k, being shorter than its top side, i, a
short slightly curved or inclined side, 1, form-
ing an obtuse angle with the top side, i, and 50
a slightly curved or inclined side, m, between
the side I and the bottom side, k.
The pattern B, which constitutes the con-
cavo-convex part of the bridle-blinker, is ap-
proximately elliptical in form. 55
I claim as my invention-
The patterns for a bridle-blinker consisting
of the parts A, B, and C, substantially as here-
in described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as 6c
my invention I have signed my name in the
