iron and bronze, 87" highBorn Bologna, 1911. Began studying with his sculptor father and then at the Bologna
Academy; went to Paris. Exhibited at two Rome Quadriennale shows where in 1955 was
awarded the sculpture prize. Exhibited at every Biennale in Venice from 1934 to 1956,
winning prizes in 1950 and 1952. At the 1960 Venice Biennale he was given a room and
has also exhibited at Kassel II Documenta, at the Sao Paulo Biennale and all the big inter-
national shows, including the New Decade Exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art, New York,
1955. One-man show at the Catherine Viviano Gallery, New York, 1959. Lives in Milan
and teaches there at the Brera Academy.
