District*, and the prices will be paid as
designated above:
1st. District—Red River, Lamar, Fan-
nin, Hopkins, Hunt, Kauftnan, Ellis,
Johnson, Hill, Parkei, Tarrant, Dallas,
Collin, Grayson, Cook and Denton. 2d
District—Bowie, Davis, Titus, Marion,
Upsber, Wood, Van Zandt, Smith, Rusk,
Harrison. Panola, Shelby, Nacogdoches,
Cherokee, Anderson, Henderson, Navarro,
Freestone, Limestone, Leon, Houston,
Angelina tnd Sun Augustine, and Sabine.
3d District—Includes all the country
east of Brazos River, and south of DUtrict
No. y.
4th District—McClellan, Bell, WiUiam-
Bpn, Travis, Hays and Gntidalupejconnties,
aud all counties south east of these, and
between the Guadalupe ami Brazos Rivers.
5th District—Balance of the State not
in other Districts. Should the name of
any County be omitted, it will be under-
stood to be embraced in the District in-
cluding it.
For reasons satisfactory to ourselves
some articles are not placed in this sche-
dule, though included in former ones
such articles agents will purchuse on the
best terms possible, and if not satisfied
with the price asked by the holder, tbey
can impress and refer to u* for a final
valuation under the law.
The prices are to be paid for article* of
subsistence in the county of their growth
or manufacture, if in this State, and if
impressed or purchased out of such county,
then transportation within the State i* to
be paid as established above; ill addition
to such prices. In case of sugar and
molasses in Louisiana,' the rule* herein
set forth are to be allowed nt the line
between that State and this. In addition
thereto, transportation is to be counted
from the place of purchase or impressment
in this Htate, along the direct and usually
'traveled road, back to the nearest point on
the Louisiana line.

Confederate States, and fur other pur
¥5e" CONGRESS of the Confederate
States of America do' enact. That every
person Hot subject to the rule* and 'arti-
cle* of war, who «hall procure or entice a
soldier, or person enrolled f<>r service in
the army of the Confederate State*, to
deiert, or who shall aid or assist any deser-
ter from the army, or any person enrolled
fer «ervice, to evade their proper commas-
dors, or to prevent their arrest, to be re-
turned to the service, or who shall know*
ingly conceal or harbor an) uuoh deserter,
or shall purchase from any soldier, or
Eeraon enrolled for tervice, any portion ot
i* arma, equipments, rations or clothing,
or any property belonging t.i the Confede-
rate States, or any officer or soldier of the
Confederate States, «hall, upon conviction
before the DUtrict Court of the Confede-
rate State* having jurisdiction of the
offence, be fined not to exceed one thou-
sand dollar* and be in.pri*oned not to ex-
ceed two year*. [Approved January 88d,
1863.]
II. Property purchased from a soldier
in violation of the provisions of tbU Act
will be seized and turned over to the
nearest officer who is charged with that
peculiar kind of Government property,
who will receipt for the same and account
for it These facts will be reported at
once to tbesc Head Quarters for referenoe
to the civil authorities, in order that the
penalties prescribed may be enforced.
III. Hereafter no furlough will be
granted, unless the certificate, of the
company commander accompanies the ap-
plication, that the soldier has in h is posses-
sion all tbearms and accoutrements which
have issued to him, or that they have beeu -
satisfactorily accounted for.

These men were recently transferred
from the army at Galveston, and are pro-
bable returning to tbát place.
