Rio Grande City, Dec. 22-
On Saturday night two sol-
diers engaged in a disgraceful
row at a jacal in the lower
part of town. Ono of them,
crazed with whisky, cleaned
out the house by violence, aft
er which ho attacked his com-
rade with a Urge knife, and
inflicted several severewounds
on him, one of which is seri-
ous.
Last night about ten o'clock
a nigger named Clark was
caught running around town
dressed in woman's clothes,
lie was run into the mill.
Mrs. A. L. Sullivan and her
litte son Bob, of San Antonio,
who have been visiting the
family of Mr. Ni x. leave to-
day for their home. Mrs. Sul-
livan has made a host of
friends during her visit, who
regret her departure very
much.

Yesterday afternoon the
votes of tho municipal election
wore counted, and the ticket
headed by Mayor Hinojosa
declared elected. The Hinojosa
club with a band of music
were iu front of tho municipal
palace and after the result was
declared paraded the streets,
and then held an enthusiastic
meeting at their hall.
