fore October 1, 1837, 1280 ncrcs. Olfi

March 1, were allowed twelve months
from the dato of their discharges,to bring
their families, to entitle them to the

theso claims, based upon considerations
resent, or future, and being hold
rict compliance with all the terms
the name, bocamo drafts for their re-
spectivo amounts upon tho public do-
main whether vacant still, or by forfeit
uro, alienage, or other cause. A pro-
portion of these claims wero located in
tho Nashville Colony. A proportion of
tho Nashvile colonists, and of those
holding first class certificates, Bounty
and Donation land warrants,and other mili-
tary claims, fought "tho l>uttle," and
gavo a homo to some who returned af-
ter the bit lie,, as well as to thoso who
emigrated since. And now it is that a
portion of all these various meritorious
claims aro jeopardized by sales and con
cessions in salo, in tho names of indi
viduals nevor polled in Texas, or of
avowed aliens. I will furnish a few
