From the reflections offered in sev-
eral of our Panhandle exchanges it
is evident that it is desirable all
around to have the two meetings,
and to hold them at the same time
and place. It is further evident
that as there will be two railway ex-
cursions given in the short month
of February that the immigration
work for the Panhandle should be
outlined at as early a day as prac-
ticable, and that February 22d is too
late. We 'propose that the joint
convention lie held on Tuesday, Feb.
7th, at 10 o'clock a. ra, 'If anybody
can show a more conve-ient time
let him speak quickly and we will
agree t© it. Now the only question
in doubt is where shall we hold the
s
meeting? Gan&diah was the first
place to invite it, and we do not yet
see sufficient cause to change our
vote for Canadian. Everything has
been running in the grooves in thq
three old-towns of the Panhandle*
and we would like to take a hew de
parture in meetissg the new condi-
tions of tile Panhandle. Besides,
such a gathering should be hékl at
a railway town, and as Canadian is
the only railway town able to ac-
commodate the crowd that has in-
vited usj we think their invitation
should be accepted We have ex-
pressed ourselves frankly about the
matter, bat if we can find out the

then the beneficial results are sure

to impose on the town company and

live progrssive newspaper, which the
growing interests or the people of
Canadian, Hemphill county and the

our breath to remain pure, and do
not desire particles of the rank Free
