The following cull for a South-
ern Central Convention of white
Republicans is worrying the Har-
rison brigade in Texas not a little:
The Republicans of the State ol
Texas, after years of humiliation
and defeat, assembled in mass
convention at Dallas,Texas, April
12 and 13, 1802, and adopted reso-
lutions condemning the action ol
Federal officials in using the ne-
gro to secure the management and
control of the party for the ad-
vancement of their own personal
ambition, the sceurement of Fed-
eral offices and the distribution of
Federal patronage in opposition
to the nest interests oí the party
and the success of Republican
principles.
The convention also determined
upon the reorganization of the
party in the State based upon the
intelligence and manhood of the
white American citizens, and
placed a full State ticket in the
field, with a manly son of General
riuiii Houston ut its head.
Under this reorganization of the
party, elections were held in the
various < )ongressional districts of
the State, and delegates elected
to represent the reorganized party
at the National Republican Con-
vention at Minneapolis, Minn.,
which convened June 7, 1ÍS92.
At Minneapolis, as is well
known, all of the Southern white
contesting delegations were place
in the same category and deniei
recognition, both in the Natioua
Committee and the Committee ot
Credentials; but the reception and
hearty sympathy extended to our
delegations by the delegates from
all parts ol the country stimulate
us to renewed exertion in belial
of our cause, and we thereto1'®
submit this plan for the nn're
thorough organization of the Re-
publican party in the tiiteen
Southern States comjio^'d of
